Forewarned
My study of Wombats in General, however, produced some interesting results. Cursory examination of the common sources revealed that wombats don't live in the Jungle at all. Rather, they tend to inhabit the desert climes of Australia. This came as a surprise to me, but the Wombat In Question explained that he was an immigrant.
Further investigation revealed other inconsistencies. Wombats, as a rule, have little interest in Physics, Chemistry or even Aerodynamics. They seldom drive school busses, and there have been no (other) recorded observances of a wombat being fired from a cannon.
It seemed to me, after these revelations that bub may be a Very Unique Wombat Indeed. Then one night, studying an ancient tome, I found a photograph of a wombat. It seems that wombats are not in fact gray, but brown.
My research was suspended precipitously. At our next meeting I carefully examined the gray fuzz of my friend. It proved to be gray. When I informed him of the startling results of my research, he told me something that I would hear him say often as our work together progressed, "Hmmmmm".
Although in many previous meetings, we had discussed the importance of the fuzzy one's story to students of the Physical Sciences, we came to the conclusion that this work may be of value to the Biologists, especially those who study the fuzzy brown marsupials who pay little attention to Physics or Show Business.
It turns out that our friend bub is a Singular Character. Perhaps my painstaking research was not in vain. But I think that, after reading these anecdotes of the Life and Times of bub the Wombat, you'll agree that these stories will bear out this fact.
